Humanoid Robot Rental Cost: What You’ll Actually Pay in 2026

ZMP Robots 8 min read
Unitree G1 at exhibition with attendees

Humanoid robot rental in 2026 starts at $199/day for the Unitree G1. The day rate drops as the booking length grows — three days runs $299/day, four to seven $259/day, and eight to thirty $199/day. Free delivery and collection are included across the 48 contiguous US states, and ZMP Protection covers accidental damage during Approved Use at no extra charge. Below is the full pricing breakdown — daily rates, the flat Refundable Deposit, optional add-ons, and real total-cost examples for the rental lengths event planners actually book.

The Real Cost: Tiered Day Rates

The daily rate for the Unitree G1 depends on one variable: how many days you book. Longer rentals get a lower per-day rate. There is no negotiation, no quote process, and no manual pricing — the rate is set by the booking length and shown at checkout. The robot itself is the same across every tier: the Unitree G1 with five-finger dexterous hands, NVIDIA Jetson Orin onboard compute, and 3D LiDAR (full spec sheet on Unitree Robotics).

Booking lengthDaily rateTotal range
3 days (minimum)$299/day$897
4–7 days$259/day$1,036 – $1,813
8–30 days$199/day$1,592 – $5,970

Three days is the minimum — short event activations, single-day product launches, and 48-hour content shoots all fit the 3-day tier. The 4-to-7-day tier covers most trade show deployments and short multi-day campaigns. The 8-to-30-day tier carries the cheapest per-day rate and is built for residencies, multi-city tours, and extended brand activations.

The robot stays at the customer's address through the entire booking window, including weekends. Delivery and collection are weekday-only, so a Friday-to-Monday booking is four days and the robot stays the full weekend. Once you Confirm Reservation, the tier is locked — rate changes mid-rental do not apply.

The Refundable Deposit

Every Reservation includes a flat $1,000 Refundable Deposit. The deposit is held at checkout, not charged. It is returned in full within seven days of the robot being collected, assuming a clean return.

The deposit serves one purpose: under the included ZMP Protection (the free base tier), it caps your accidental-damage exposure during Approved Use. If a minor scrape happens at the venue, the cost may be drawn from the deposit and the balance returned. If you book ZMP Protection+ — the optional 15% per-day add-on — the Refundable Deposit is returned in full on a clean return regardless of accidental damage during Approved Use, and there is no out-of-pocket exposure to absorb separately.

The deposit is not part of your rental cost. It is not a fee. Plan for it as a hold on your card that comes back, not as money you are spending.

Time for the refund to appear on the customer's account depends on the card-issuer's processing speed, typically five to ten business days.

What's Free, What's Optional

Every Reservation is configured the same way at checkout. The included items never change. The optional items are toggles — pick them, don't pick them, the rest of your rental works either way.

Always included (no extra cost)

  • The Unitree G1 with five-finger dexterous hands
  • Free delivery to the customer's address
  • Free collection at the end of the rental
  • Standard battery pack and charger
  • Remote controller
  • Gantry support equipment
  • User guidance and operating manual
  • ZMP Protection — covers accidental damage during Approved Use, capped at the Refundable Deposit

Optional (priced add-ons at checkout)

  • Certified Operator Setup — $100 flat, one-time. A trained technician attends the delivery, switches the robot on, configures it for your use case, and gives up to 60 minutes of on-site guidance and training. Recommended if no one on your team has run a humanoid before.
  • ZMP Protection+ — 15% of daily rate, per day. Zero out-of-pocket exposure for accidental damage during Approved Use. Refundable Deposit returned in full on clean return. Recommended for crowded venues, brand activations, and high-interaction moments.

That is the full menu. There is no shipping fee line, no fuel surcharge, no minimum-order fee, no quote-only “logistics estimate” hidden behind a contact form.

What Drives Your Total Cost

Your total payment at checkout is the sum of three things: the rental days at the relevant tier rate, any optional add-ons you select, and the $1,000 Refundable Deposit (held, not spent).

Booking lengthTier rateRental subtotal+ Refundable DepositCharged at checkout (no add-ons)
3 days$299/day$897$1,000$1,897
5 days$259/day$1,295$1,000$2,295
7 days$259/day$1,813$1,000$2,813
14 days$199/day$2,786$1,000$3,786
30 days$199/day$5,970$1,000$6,970

The Refundable Deposit comes back to your account within seven days of collection, so the actual cost you keep is the rental subtotal plus any optional add-ons. For a 7-day booking, that is $1,813 net (or $1,913 with Certified Operator Setup added).

For ZMP Protection+, multiply the daily rate by 0.15. On a 7-day booking at $259/day, that adds $38.85/day — about $272 across the rental. On a 14-day booking at $199/day, it adds roughly $418 over the full window.

Real Total Examples by Use Case

The math is the same for everyone. The rental length is what differs. Below are three scenarios that match the bookings event planners actually run, calculated end to end.

Trade show booth (5 days)

Booth runs Tuesday through Saturday. Tier: 4–7 days at $259/day. Rental: $1,295. Refundable Deposit: $1,000 (returned). Most trade show teams add Certified Operator Setup for the morning of day one ($100). With ZMP Protection+ for crowd-handling safety: 15% × $259 × 5 = $194. Net cost kept after deposit return: $1,589.

Wedding or private event (3 days)

Friday delivery, Sunday-night collection. Tier: 3-day minimum at $299/day. Rental: $897. Refundable Deposit: $1,000 (returned). Most private events add Certified Operator Setup ($100) and skip Protection+ since the crowd is controlled. Net cost kept: $997.

Multi-week brand activation (14 days)

Tier: 8–30 days at $199/day. Rental: $2,786. Refundable Deposit: $1,000 (returned). For a long activation with rotating audience touch, ZMP Protection+ is usually worth it: 15% × $199 × 14 = $418. Net cost kept: $3,204.

Hidden Costs to Watch For (and Ours That Aren't There)

Other humanoid robot rental quotes typically tack on cost layers that aren't visible until the contract arrives. Here is a quick rundown of the line items you may see elsewhere but won't see at our checkout.

  • Shipping or delivery fees. Free across the 48 contiguous US states. Built into the rate.
  • Fuel surcharges. None. The price you see is the price you pay.
  • Damage protection upcharges. ZMP Protection is included. ZMP Protection+ is the only optional damage-protection uplift, priced transparently as 15% of the daily rate.
  • Operator hourly fees. Certified Operator Setup is $100 flat, not per-hour. Up to 60 minutes of on-site training is included in that flat fee.
  • Custom programming. Standard scripted interactions (greetings, gestures, walking demos) are included. Highly custom programming or integration with venue systems is quoted separately, but it is flagged in your booking confirmation, not buried in a contract addendum.
  • Minimum-order or “logistics” fees. None beyond the published 3-day minimum.

FAQ

How much does it cost to rent a humanoid robot per day?

From $199/day for the Unitree G1 on 8–30 day bookings, $259/day on 4–7 days, and $299/day on the 3-day minimum. Free delivery and collection are included on every booking.

Is the Refundable Deposit charged or just held?

Held only. The $1,000 Refundable Deposit is a hold on the customer's card at checkout, not a charge. It is returned in full within seven days of clean return, typically arriving on the customer's account in five to ten business days depending on the card issuer.

What is the cheapest way to rent a humanoid robot?

Book eight days or longer. The 8-to-30 day tier is $199/day — the lowest per-day rate. Trade show planners and brand-activation teams running multi-week deployments use this tier almost exclusively.

Are there any shipping or delivery costs?

No. Free delivery and collection are included on every Reservation across the 48 contiguous US states. There are no shipping fees, fuel surcharges, or remote-area uplifts.

Do I need an operator at the event?

It depends on your team's experience. If no one has run a humanoid before, the optional Certified Operator Setup ($100 flat, one-time) sends a trained technician to the delivery and provides up to 60 minutes of on-site guidance and training.

Can I get a quote before booking?

There are no quotes. Pricing is published. Day rate, deposit, and any add-ons are calculated automatically when you pick your dates at checkout. Confirm Reservation pays the full amount and locks the rate.

Which states do you serve?

All 48 contiguous US states. Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations are not served. Every booking includes free delivery to the customer's address and weekday-only collection at the end of the rental.
